Syeda Maisa is an undergraduate Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Michigan. Maisa works on the Computer-Assisted Decision Modeling for Cardiovascular Disease project under Dr. Najarian. Much of her work includes the manufacturing of piezoelectric sensors that can pick up atrial pulse as well as the devices that connect the sensors to different parts of the body. Through this project, Maisa designs devices for the finger and wrist through SolidWorks and has 3D printed them to increase the efficiency of the manufacturing process. Maisa is currently working on collecting data from sensors to create a device that can detect arterial pulse in the temple. She is also constructing a box on SolidWorks to increase the portability of the sensors. Maisa is excited to continue on with the project and partake in the advancement of the project.
