Alexander Wood is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Biomedical & Clinical Informatics Lab. He received his PhD in Computer Science from The Graduate Center of the City University in New York in 2018, an MPhil in Computer Science from The Graduate Center in 2017, and an MS in Pure Mathematics at DePaul University in 2015. Alexander has taught a variety of mathematics and computer science courses at New York University, John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and New York City College of Technology.
Alexander’s research interests include image processing, machine learning, and privacy-preserving classification techniques. In particular, he is interested in collaborative research among scientific, computational, and medical professionals to design and develop computational clinical support systems that supplement the quality and increase the accessibility of medical care. Alexander collaborates with multiple project teams at BCIL, including AngioAid, the Polytrauma Decision Support System, and the Development and Assessment of an In-Vehicle Cardiac Monitoring System.
