Madeline is a proud Pittsburgher and Torontonian with training in a diverse array of methods in mathematical and computational biology. She received her PhD from the University of Toronto Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology before joining the lab through the Schmidt AI in Science fellowship hosted at University of Michigan. Madeline’s current research focuses on developing our quantitative understanding of basic biological processes that underlie within-host infection dynamics using both statistical and machine learning methods. For her ideal dinner party, Madeline would invite Kurt Vonnegut, Stanley Kubrick and Jeff Lynne. In her free time, Madeline enjoys running, strength training and thrifting.
